Not only can boudior shoots make you feel confident about your body, it can also give you a greater understanding of yourself internally.
Boudior Bag
Essentials
1. 2-3 Outfits + a Few Extras
I’ve been there, outfits can be hard to narrow down! Bring your favs and allow your photographer to narrow them down based on what will photograph best.
2. Accessories
This is an area where less is truly more. Simple jewelry, knee-high socks, oversized sweaters, button-down shirt, veil, robe, + any additional accessories you may like will make for great accessories!
3. Lotion
Moisturizing is always a great idea! Bring your favorite lotion to feel amazing in your skin.
4. Water + Light Snacks
If you’re anything like me, getting hangry is a real thing. If you’re being pampered with hair and makeup, plus sippin’ mimosas, you may find yourself a little hungry. Bring a granola bar or some fruit and you’ll be set!
Preparation Timeline
-
4-6 Weeks
1. Begin thinking about your ideal boudoir outfits.
Shop your closet for your favorite pieces you may already own and look online or in magazines for inspiration.
2. Go shopping!
Ask a friend to join you and help find pieces you not only look good in, but feel good in! Don’t be afraid to try something a little out of your comfort zone. You never know, you could love it!
3. Choose 3-5 Outfits
Begin to narrow down your outfit choices to 3-5 of your favorite outfits that you would feel comfortable and confident shooting in.
4. Think Beyond the Shoot
Think about how you want to preserve your photos. An album and prints are my favorite way to show off my boudoir photos!
-
3-5 Days
1. Wax or shave and moisturize!
Healthy and moisturized skin will capture the best in your photos!
2. Avoid spray tans or tanning lotions.
No matter how natural tanning sprays and lotions may seem, they create an orange glow that cannot be retouched after your session.
3. Drink lots of water to hydrate your skin.
4. Remove all price and sizing tags from lingerie.
We don’t want those pesky tags showing up in your photos!
5. Choose your final 2-3 outfits that let your personality shine!
-
1-2 Days
1. Get a fresh manicure!
Avoid bright colors, neutrals are best.
2. Avoid alcohol and drink plenty of water!
3. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!!
4. Pack your boudoir bag the night before to ensure the essentials aren’t forgotten.
Items such as oil blotters, lotion, water, and light snacks to get you through the session!
5. Double check your list, relax, and get ready to feel beautiful.
